Foster father convicted of sex crimes

A Prince Edward County man has been convicted of sex crimes against two young girls.

The now 71-year-old man was the girls’ foster-father when the crimes of sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation occured.

The victims were around the age of ten at the time of the abuse and are now in their late teens.

The jury this morning acquitted the accused of three charges against him by one of the complainants, but found him guilty on six more charges by the other two girls.

He’ll reappear at Picton Superior Court on July 6 for sentencing.
