Oklahoma couple charged with abusing 4 foster children in Osage County

SPERRY, Okla. — Authorities have charged a couple in Osage County with abusing four foster children who were in their care.

Sheriff's investigators say 47-year-old Lora Lee Thomas and 58-year-old Aubrey Stuart Thomas paddled the children, forced them to regurgitate and eat their own vomit and soak in ice baths to bring down swelling on their injuries. The Thomases were charged last month.

The Tulsa World reports the Sperry couple initially had six foster children but two were removed by the state.

Lora Thomas is charged with felony child abuse and is being held on $50,000 bond. Aubrey Thomas is charged with felony enabling child abuse and was released on $50,000 bond.

It was unclear whether Lora or Aubrey Thomas had legal representation.
